The Sharp CE-515P printers (Part II) : European/US version opening the box

The box don’t have the classic PC-1500 peripherals brown look.
It’s the for the next generation, the PC-1600, and have a nice blue color.
The parcel looks strong and the printer seems to be well protected.

The inside part is made of two blocs of polystyrene. The user manual is on the top.

And on the top bloc we discover places for a paper roll and 3 pens sets. Nice idea !

Removing the top bloc… and the big graphic color printer is here with it’s power adapter.

Here are all items included in the box… but the transparent cover is not on the picture.

Next time we will open the printer 🙂

New in the family : PC-1500 RP !

Do you remember the PC-1500 RP2 found in Brazil ?
This new one is the RP and it’s the same for the printer.

This is a full set with all accessories and manuals. The instruction manual is only a bad copy.
The case is very clean ! And all accessories are present : power adapter, pens, paper, cables…
And the papers too : connector cover for the printer, sticker for name.
And the big surprise is the PC-1500RP 8K memory module. Uh, all seems to be named PC-1500RP…
The case is like the one the the PC-1500RP2 but with two rivets on each side. This makes it stronger.
Differences between the RP and RP2 ? None !
Each time the serials are same for the pocket computer and the printer.

In conclusion i think the RP version is the PC-1500 without memory module (or with 8K) and the RP2 is provided with the 16KB module (Remember the PTA-4000 and PTA-4000+16).
Not much differences but we can consider the two versions.
Now we have 11 PC-1500 versions !

CE-150 cases part II : for specific countries

The classic case exists in two countries Hungary and Brazil.

In Hungary we have two versions for the Hiradastechnika company.
They are very closed to the Sharp but with some differences.

For the PTA-4000 the color is between brown and orange and the plastic fell low-cost.

And the inside zone delimiters are only welded at the bottom, nothing on the sides.

For the PTA-4000+16 it’s the classic brown color

With the same problem for the separators

And here are the two in the same pictures :

For Brazil it a luxurious case, like a jewel case ! My preferred !

There is a special compartment for a memory module.

CE-150 cases part I : classic ones

We all have this accessory with our CE-150 : the case.
But do you know all the cases ?

We have the classic Sharp :
Brown, well designed with 3 zones for CE-150, paper rolls and power adapter.

The rare CE-154 !
The top-most accessory.

The Tandy version.
This one looks very nice with two pockets for power adapter and accessories.

Sharp CE-150 : pinions replacement solution ?

Hi all,

We all have ALPS printer modules with broken pinions.
Who knows a replacement part ?

As told by Paul in the forum :

“The pinions measure 3.75mm OD and have 13 teeth. The shaft measures 1.55mm. I’m thinking that this is very similar to some remote control helicopter pinions I found online – 13T 1.5mm shaft mod .25 (101P). I’m going to check with a local RC hobby shop to see if they have anything, but otherwise I’ll try to order some of these pinions ( … ts_id=3013).”

Someone used pinions from a Sony CD player.
