CE-152 : The Sharp tape player/recorder for the PC-1500

A robust pocket computer must have a robust tape player/recorder !
And the CE-152 is this tool.
It’s a well known PC-1500 + CE-150 extension, the best to save/load programs.

It’s a flat player in a brown protection. On the side you have the record/play connectors, a remote entry, the volume and tone potentiometers.

And in the box, the user manual, an earphone and 3… don’t know the word in english but in french it’s “coton tige”. The tape is not included but nice to see on this picture.

I’m happy to present here a swiss made magazine : Tips & Knife.

Lukas ZELLER and Stephan PASCHEDAG where enough interested by the Sharp PC-1500 to write a short magazine for fans.
This magazine written in German language was known in Germany and France. Xavier FOJUD sent me a sample.
My ones come from Holland and the interesting thing it that the first volume have a sticker “URS RIBI” (PC-1500 Clubzeitung).

Here is the last part of the PC-1500 Zeitung magazines.
Do you see the title change ? It’s lighter.

My german friend will remember lot of the 80,s.
And for the other, and me, we will use some online translator 🙂

In the last magazine you’ll find the advert of an english company : Minimicro. I’ll tell you more about it next.

The PC-2 and the Radio Shack catalogs

The Tandy PC-2 was exclusively sold by Radio Shack, in shops or catalogs.
A big thanks to Mike from www.RadioShackCatalogs.com for allowing me to publish here some pages with the PC-2 !

First we have the General catalogs for 1983 and 1984.
It’s strange but there wasn’t any PC-2 in the 1982 one.
The start price was $279.95 for the pocket and $239.95 for the printer.
The printer’s carrying case was sold apart at $29.95

And we have the Computer catalogs for 1983 and 1984 too.
Nothing after 1984… definitely replaced by the PC-3 !

Uh, do you see the PC-2 color page 39 ? It’s light brown, like PC-1500…
Printing problem or does it really exist a non grey version ?

Magazine : Sharp PC-1500 Zeitung (Part 1)

In Mai 1983 the german user clubs started a very nice magazine : Sharp PC-1500 Zeitung.
This magazine was published from may 1983 to december 1984 (19 publications).

It was a good way to discover the PC-1500 world.
There were lot of adverts and informations.
You’ll find some exchanges with the french club “Sharpentiers”.
And sure, you’ll find some of Xavier Fojud’s publications !

In the future i will give you more informations about the names present in these magazines 😉

Please, be patient when reading because in 1983 it was made with the use of copies, part of copies, listings… and text is in all directions ! lol

Some french magazines from the 80’s

In the 80’s in France there was lot of magazines with articles and programs for the pocket computers.
The best website to read them is Abandonware !

“Le Sharpentier” ended in 1987 but was continued as “Nano Ordinateurs”
Readers of “Alles für Sharp Computers” have read some pages from “Le Sharpentier” in their magazine.
